The Irish have not lost a game yet in RDS this year and have taken the second place spot in the Magner's League. They had a 26-16 win against Scarletsat on Friday, with Jonathan Sexton kicking for sixteen points. Scarletsat put forth a good effort but in the end they simply had too many mistakes in the game, including Rhys Priestland missing three kicks at the goal post. During the beginning of the game, control was in the hands of the Welsh side, but the first score was taken by the Irish, from Wing Man Niall Morris and then Jonathan Sexton converting it.
The away team tried to come back and get some points but Leinster head an incredible defense and mistakes like a missed penalty try by Priestland just made it worse. He then missed another goal kick, after giving away three points to the Irish, but came back and put his team on the score board, with Sexton immediately following that up with his own kick. As the second half ended, Priestland took three more penalties, and for a moment it seemed as if there was hope for the Welsh side. In the final minutes of game however, Gareth Maule got a yellow card and that gave the victory to the home team.
With Maule out, Isaac Boss was on top of the try that made the game with Sexton right behind. The scorers for Leinster were Morris and Boss for tries, Sexton for 2 cons and 4 penalties and then for the Scarlets RM Thomas, and Reynolds were top for the tries, with Priestland with the pens and cons. Maule got his yellow card at minute 73. The venue was RDS at Leinster and Andy Macpherson took the roll of referee for this match.
